Job Description

 This is an Executive Search for our client, a full-service international transportation and infrastructure consulting firm in 8 countries. We are searching for a Freight - Business Unit Manager, with experience working for rail companies is highly preferred.  You can live and work out of the following location: (St. Paul, MN; Fairfax, VA; Columbus, OH; Lisle, IL or San Francisco, CA).   If you are interested please send your resume ASAP.

Job Details:

Financial Management: Regularly reviews activities, costs, and forecasts to determine business unit progress to stated goals and objectives. Project Management: Coaches staff and holds them accountable for ensuring that all projects undertaken in their business unit adhere to WSA standards for project management, meet customer expectations for quality and timely delivery, and maintain profitability targets. New Business Development/Marketing: Analyzes economic conditions and business trends in market area and develops and implements strategies needed to achieve short and long-term sales and margin goals.

 Should have Client Management Experience

Maintains relationships with firm's clients. Monitors client satisfaction through regular client meetings, telephone calls and other methods. Develops and manages staff to meet business objectives: Provides leadership and support and assists in employees' skill development. Must be able to convey information clearly and effectively through verbal and written communications; reviews and edits written work constructively

 Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, planning, economics, science

Ten years of relevant experience, seven of which must be in management role

Experience should be in Rail planning and/or development

Experience working for rail companies preferred

Must have ability to quickly develop working knowledge of project financial management software (BST preferred)
